In normal lighting, the stone has a smoky gray to charcoal appearance with natural mottling and darker mineral inclusions. Under UV light, scattered areas throughout the carving fluoresce a vivid orange, creating dramatic highlights across the dragon’s face, wings, body, and base.
This particular piece does not have an extremely high concentration of fluorescent spots, but the reactive areas it does contain are larger and especially noticeable under UV light. Please review the UV photos for the exact fluorescence pattern of this carving.
